An Arrest Is Not a Conviction
An arrest entry does not prove guilt. NYPD arrest charges can be declined, changed, dismissed, or resolved in the accused person's favor, while an NYC DOC booking result shows custody rather than a final outcome. A court may later correct or seal a matter under New York law. An old copy can therefore misstate current status. Verify the final disposition with Kings County Criminal Court or Supreme Court, Criminal Term, and use DCJS Personal Record Review when checking your own fingerprint history.
Treat every record you find as a starting point, not a verdict. Only the originating agency can confirm what a record currently says and whether it is still releasable.
Verify With the Official Source
Nothing published here is an official record. Confirm a court date or case outcome with the appropriate Kings County court, a police report with NYPD, current city custody with NYC DOC, a personal state history with DCJS, and a registry entry with the New York State Sex Offender Registry. Only the custodian can issue an official or certified copy.
